The metal frame is both sturdy, tough, and well-made, so I can envision having and using it for a very long time. However, the bolas (balls) that came with the set came apart from the ropes very easily and after double knotting the knots keeping the balls on the ropes, one of the tethers on the balls broke rendering that bola useless. I had to switch to bolas I already had from another plastic set. Thankfully, they work well with this metal set. Now the set is perfect, but I can't recommend it to others unless they get an alternate set of bolas to play with.

I ordered two of these sets as Christmas presents. When I opened up the delivery box, both of the sets arrived with damaged carrying cases. The parts were boxed and the carrying case was zipped around the box which was way too large for the bag. Hence the seems ripped. May be a decent set but you will have to purchase an additional carrying bag to hold the set.

Strong steel frame should last a very long time and doesn't need to be filled with sand to weigh it down.

We had recieved our first ladderball as a gift. It was a piece of junk and fell apart immediately. Beware of the ones made with plastic. This one should hold up for a long time. Hayneedle sells the best and the delivery was on time.

Q1: Is this made entirely out of steel, including the crossbars?
A: Yes, per our supplier the entire item is composed of steel. The crossbars are painted in their various colors, but they are not plastic.
